Criminal Court Cases in Cache County
The First District Court in Logan hears Cache County felonies and class A misdemeanors. It is at 135 North 100 West, Logan, Utah 84321, and its main number is 435-750-1300. Justice courts handle most class B and C misdemeanors, infractions, local ordinances, and traffic matters. Logan has a city justice court. Hyrum, Providence, Wellsville, and Nibley also have Cache County channels identified in the court directory. Search both district and justice jurisdictions when the offense level is not clear.
Utah Courts, rather than Cache County's elected clerk, maintains these case files. The Historic Courthouse at 199 North Main houses the County Attorney, not the district court clerk. Cache County Court Coverage Since 1997
Logan district cases are complete in CORIS from August 18, 1997. Some older converted Cache County cases may appear, but their history can be sparse. A missing older event does not prove that no file exists. Ask the clerk about archives, use the free courthouse terminal, or submit the official court-record form with the known name, court, case number, and approximate filing period.

Read each charge separately. One count may be dismissed while another ends in conviction. The result cannot be inferred from the first charge shown on an arrest record.
Cache County Court Transfers
Smithfield Justice Court closed on April 1, 2021, and its cases moved to First District Court. A 2025 legislative resolution also addressed dissolution of the North Logan and Hyde Park Justice Courts. Those changes can send an older Cache County matter and a newer matter to different places. Search Xchange by both jurisdiction and current court location instead of assuming the former municipal counter still holds the active file.
Transferred cases also show why a citation number alone can fail. Citation and case numbers are not statewide unique. Add the person's name, a date, and Cache County scope. Criminal Case Stages in Cache County

Terms have precise meanings. An arraignment is the hearing for the charge and plea. A docket is the time-ordered activity record. A disposition is the outcome of a charge. Cache County Specialty Court Dockets
The Cache County Attorney identifies Drug Court and Mental Health Court among Cache County criminal programs. Its criminal division assigns prosecutors to three First District judges, Juvenile Court, and Logan Justice Court. It also maintains focus areas for domestic violence, child abuse, drugs, juvenile crime, fraud, and matters involving mental-health diagnoses. These program names describe case handling, not a separate public database.
Use Xchange and the clerk for the public docket just as with another Cache County criminal case. Program participation, a treatment order, or a later disposition should be confirmed from the actual proceedings and signed orders. Juvenile delinquency files are excluded from public Xchange. Do not treat the absence of such a file as evidence that no juvenile matter exists.
Access Rules for Case Records
Utah court access is governed by court-record rules rather than the sheriff's GRAMA process. Rule 4-202.02 classifies court records. Public Xchange omits sealed and expunged cases, juvenile delinquency cases, and material classified as nonpublic. Public views also protect sensitive identifiers and victim or minor details.
